Ok, well i got lazy and busy and i didn’t update you with any information for a long time and now i am home so you can just simply ask me about the trip.

Our bus down to Sydney isn’t until late tonight (8:55pm) which is a 14hour~ bus ride .. woohoo! so im just wasting some time as the girls are busy showering.

We arrived in Brisbane on the 25th via bus and my friend Tim picked us up from the bus station as we were spending our days in Brisbane at his house (free accomodation!). The first evening wasnt anything special, we all lounged and had some beers and called it a night. The next day was Australia day, very similar to Canada day … everyone gets drunk and has a BBQ. We spent the day in the city doing some shopping .. was a fairly large “mall” as it was essentially about 2 blocks long but had all these mini malls tucked in and were all like 3 floors high. After a few hours in the city we hit the bottle shop and headed back to Tims for some more drinks and the BBQ. Well, its been quite sometime since i posted on here … so lets see what we’ve done since the last update.

So we did end up only spending one day in 1770, wish we had stayed longer since everything was so damn cheap! all the regular tourist stuff was atleast halfprice, but with our Fraser Island trip already booked we werent able to stay any longer than we did. We did a free tour the first day we got there, just showed us around the town … town has 80 homes, all more expensive the homes in Richmond and they all look like crap! That evening we did a bike tour, i rode on a mini chopper and the girls rode on scooters, was pretty fun .. the bikes get up to about 80k and you just fly along. Read the rest of this entry »

Howdy doody,

Well we’re still in the Whitsundays but thankfully we will be moving on later tonight on an exciting 10 hour bus ride down to 1700/Agnes Water.

We spent the past 3days/2nights out on a boat tour around the Whitsunday Islands. We were spending the days on the boat and the evenings on land at a “resort” on South Molle Island. I found some sort of cacoon like thingy attached to our curtains in our room … was waiting for it to spawn some creature to eat us .. luckily it didnt. The island was pretty nice, had a huge pool, a tennis court, a golf course (9 holes), beach volleyball, and some bush walks. Read the rest of this entry »

More free time … another update.

Been in Airlie beach for the past few days waiting to start our Whitsunday tour which starts on Monday. Small little town, not a whole lot to do, so its been a relaxing few days of nothing. Did some laundry, played some cards, had some drinks. Like Cairns, Airlie beach as its own man-made lagoon to swim in since its stinger season and you cant really go in the ocean .. lagoons > any pool.

Before arriving in Airlie beach we spent a few days on Magnetic Island visiting the beach, the hostel pool and the koala sancturary. We all got to hold a croc, hug a koala and had the option of holding a python … Lars and I decided to keep our distance from the snake, and Jessie got assualted by it … got a few pics, will eventually get those upload on gamepad … granted i can find a cafe with decent internet abilities .. pos aussie internet. We also got to hand feed some colourful birds (not sure the name of the bird) at our hostel, was quite interesting to watch .. 430 on the dot like 100 birds come soaring in and land all over the place, you grab some wet bread and you just became a feeder. I ended up having 1 on my head, 1 on my shoulder, 2 on my arm and 2 in my hand fighting over the wet bread. One bird attacked some kid so he ran off crying .. sucker.

Not much really to say, its been a few days of nothing cause we’ve had to wait for our whitsunday tour since the one we wanted was booked full already so we pushed ours back a few days. So starting tomorrow it should be go go go again and ill actually have somthing good to say … i hope.

Well, its so damn hot out we’ve come lounged in the internet room at the YHA we are staying at on Magnetic Island. So another exciting trip update…

The last few days we were in Cairns staying at Gilligans hostel/resort .. im expecting it to be the nice hostel we stay in all trip. Big rooms, personal lockers, laundry room, free internet, lounge areas, free movies, bar which becomes a club later at nite .. with its own private room with a massive couch for everyone to sit on… so nice. Mini update.

After 30 hours of travelling we finally landed in Sydney. We were staying at our friends Adrians grandmothers place (nan) which is actually in Janalli just outside of sydney. Was so nice to have some place to stay other than a hostel to start off in.

We spent a few days wandering around in Sydney, on the beach in Cronulla, and sleeping on the train. Was lots of fun and we are all eager to get back down to Sydney.

We landed in Cairns a few hours ago and are just checking in on some internet stuff and then we are off to explore for the afternoon. We will be in Cairns for atleast 3 days, which means i have internet access and if all goes well i should be able to post some pics so you can all wish you were here.
